Jewell Alene Culley

Jewell Alene Culley, 79, a resident of The Dalles passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the local hospital. She was born on October 22, 1936 in Peggs, Okla., the youngest of five children to Virgle and Bessie (Willis) Reel. She married Charles Culley in Reno, Nev. in June of 1961. She lived in Idaho, Nevada and California before moving to The Dalles in 1977. Jewell worked for many years at the Hi-Way House as assistant cook, The Sugar Bowl, Wash N Shop and Muirhead Cannery. Her grandchildren were the highlights of her life, going to all of their events. She never missed a basketball or baseball game, and had her seat at TDHS. Jewell is survived by her five children Keith Winsett (Marilynn) of Arkansas, Sharlene Bonham (Rich) of The Dalles, Colleen Moore of Portland, Jack Culley of The Dalles and Johnny Culley of Portland; her grandchildren, Richard Anderson and Ryan Anderson, Emily Moore, Jacob Moore and Rudy Hass, all of Portland. She was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Richard Anderson and Eric Moore and her brothers and sisters. Funeral Services was held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home at 1pm with Joyce Powell-Morin officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Threemile.
