Ingrid Kari Dornberg

Ingrid Kari Dornberg, 54, resident of Springdale, Ark., passed away on August 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by loved ones. A gifted artist and counselor who has helped scores of local area school children, Ingrid is survived by her loving husband Scott and daughter Amy. Ingrid was born August 7, 1962, in Marshall, Minn., to Rev. Daniel J. and Margrete Jordahl. Following graduation from Marshall High School, she pursued a B.A. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., and a certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Minnesota State University. She married Scott Dornberg, on August 23, 1986 at First Lutheran Church in Marshall; they have a daughter, Amy. In her career as a school-based mental health para-professional at Ozark Guidance Center and elsewhere, Ingrid engaged in thoughtful creativity and skilled use of arts and crafts in helping children. She loved to paint, draw, sew, make crafts, and bake, and was an accomplished violinist who could pick up just about any string instrument and play. She enjoyed outdoor family activities, but above all was a strong Christian who shared her faith openly and generously. In addition to her husband Scott Dornberg and daughter Amy Dornberg, Ingrid is survived by parents Dan and Joan Jordahl of Sun City, Ariz., siblings Naomi (Jordahl) Thomsen of Lakeland, Fla., Johanna (Jordahl) Jones of Vero Beach, Fla., and (Johann) Eric Jordahl of Apple Valley, Minn.
