Mildred "Millie" Eubanks, age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Bellevue, Neb. Millie was born in Wheeling, Mo., to the late Delbert and Velma Blair on March 3, 1928. Millie graduated from Wheeling High School in 1945. She spent 1948-49 in Guam working for the U.S. Air Force. She next worked at the Pentagon before moving to several states and then settling in Little Rock, Ark. She worked in the secretarial field for many years and oversaw daily operation of food preparation at Geyer Springs Baptist Church. Her last three years were spent in Nebraska. Millie was an excellent cook, always had a beautiful garden, enjoyed hiking, and was a gifted seamstress. Her yard was always full of birds, which she loved. She loved the outdoors and mowed her own yard until she was 85. She had a fear of snakes, and once was seen grabbing a snake instead of a green bean. She ran for the house as her bucket of beans flew through the air. She loved the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs and was always delighted when the Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos. Millie had a passion for Jesus and spent much of her time reading books and her bible. We are comforted that she is with Him. Two things Millie never shared were her age and her secret spaghetti sauce. Dementia makes you forget people but that doesn't mean people should forget you. Millie is survived by her son Mark Eubanks, of Grayson, La.; daughter Lori Payne (John) of Papillion, Neb.; grandchildren Amy, John, Shannon, Carla and Blair; great-grandchildren, Oakleigh, Everly, Hayden, Caleb and Skyler; sisters, Irene, Florence, Jeanette and brother, Forrest; many nieces and nephews. Millie is preceded in death by her parents; son Michael Eubanks; sisters, Helen and Ethel.
