Oliver Kerwin Gray, 81, De Queen, passed away August 28, 2016 at Little River Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown. Born June 26, 1935 in the Stringtown Community of Sevier County to the late Guy Oliver and Golda Stephens Gray. Married Willene Cox Gray August 21, 1954. Member First Baptist Church, DeQueen. Worked KCS Railroad ten years. Took correspondence LSU-Shreveport for degree in accounting. Accountant for Mid-Continent Steel in Shreveport until 1973, establishing his CPA firm in DeQueen, retiring in 2003. Involved with Arkansas Chapter of CPA's Chairman of Management of Accounting Practice Committee, Chairman of Governmental Accounting Auditing Committee, and Arkansas State Board of Accounting charter member of Quality Review Committee. Involved in civic activities: DeQueen Chamber of Commerce and DeQueen Rotary Club President and Board of Directors, Pine Tree Housing Committee and Little River Housing Committee Treasurer and Board of Directors. Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center Committee Vice-President, Program Committee Chairman, Finance Committee Chairman, and Board of Directors. President of Sevier County Developmental Center, and Board of Directors for 29 years. President of DeQueen Booster Club 1987. On the Vocational Advisory Council for DeQueen Public Schools. President, coach of numerous summer youth baseball leagues in 1980's. Survivors include: Wife: Willene Gray, De Queen; Son: Steve Gray (Tammy), Harrison; Two daughters: Sherry Chaney (Duane) and Sandy Salsbury, all of De Queen; Brother: Bill Gray (Judy), Perrysburg, Ohio; Two sisters: MJ Cearley, Nashville, Sue Stinnett (James), Malvern; Six grandchildren; Two great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday, August 30, 10 a.m., Chandler Funeral Home, Bro. Virgil Romine officiating. Burial Millwee Cemetery, Chandler Funeral Home of DeQueen. Visitation will be on Monday, August 29 from 5-7 p.m., Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
