George Franklin Sarringar Jr., age 80, of Greenville, Miss., died Dec. 23, 2016. George was a fifty year member of Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge #754, where he served as Master in 1976. He was most remembered at Sylvan Hills for a trip the Lodge took to Kansas City, when he was Master. It was on this trip that the Lodge was presented with a commerative Gavel. This gavel became a "traveling gavel" that has been shared with over 100 Lodges across the state of Arkansas. George was also a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rites bodies of Little Rock. During his early years, George was the Market Manager of Sherwood Grocery. He went on to enjoy a long career as Regional District Supervisor for Bryan Foods, receiving many of the highest excellence awards, including the 1st Presidents Award. George lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved gardening and flowers. He had a passion for cooking and was a Memphis in May Bar-b-Que judge for many years. George loved to travel and never met a stranger. He loved his precious dog Coop, and he loved his family more than anything. George was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Oakley Sarringar, "Ms. Carol"; and his parents George Franklin and Myrtle Sarringar. He is survived by his children Frank Sarringar (Brenda) of Little Rock, Ark.; Denice Sarringar Frew (Jimmy) of Greenville, Miss.; Greg Sarringar (Ginger) of Hazen, Ark.; honorary son, Roger Moore (Charlotte) of Rogers, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Grissard Cemetery, C/O Wendell Drennan, 1226 Ridge Road, El Paso, Ark., 72045. Family will receive friends beginning Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Grissard Cemetery, El Paso, Ark. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
