Glenna "Inez" Long was born January 29, 1924 in Sonora, Arkansas to Addison Catlett Creek and Clara Smith Creek. She departed this life on Christmas morning, December 25, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. She and her husband, Gordon Long, had a farm near Highfill, Arkansas, where they raised cattle, chickens, and apples. They had an apple packing facility and they employed many area people to work for them in the summer. After they sold the farm and retired, Inez started working for the Gentry Public Schools as a teacher's aide in the elementary school. This was one of her favorite things because she loved the children and the teachers she worked with. She also loved flowers and loved working in her rose garden. Inez was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Highfill, was on the advisory board for Arvest Bank and was active at the Gentry Senior Center. For the past 1 ½ years, Inez had lived in Springfield, Missouri near her daughter Helen. The family wishes to thank Morningside Assisted Living and The Willows at Quail Creek for the excellent care and love she was shown while she was a resident first at Morningside and later at Quail Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon, and brother and sister-in-law, J.B. Creek and wife Lillian of Arcata, California. She is survived by three children, Patsy Setser (Ron) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helen Beeman (Dan) of Springfield, Missouri and Harold Long of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Eight grandchildren: Andrea Friend (Carl) and Douglas Setser (Leyly) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jerrod Long (Nichole) of Huachuca City, Arizona; Jason Long of Tacoma, Washington; Gordon Long of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Anita Solis of Rogers, Arkansas; Loren Cunningham (Roger) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and David Beeman (Missy) of Lowell, Arkansas and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, George Creek and his wife Neva of Council Bluffs, Iowa and several nephews and nieces. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church; Highfill, Arkansas from 12 noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 with funeral service at 1 p.m., burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery, Highfill, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Research Foundation and/or The Gentry Senior Center. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
