Glen Rose Hollingsworth Clay

Glen Rose Hollingsworth Clay was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Warren, Ark. to E.R. "Jack" and Lucille Braswell Hollingsworth. She graduated from Hermitage High School In 1970. Soon after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Clay. Glen went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a degree in Mathematics. She was employed as a teacher by Watson Chapel School District until she retired in 2009. Glen died on Feb. 13, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ernest Ray Hollingsworth; and her sister, Vivian Hollingsworth Outlaw. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Clay and two sons, Anthony (Lee Ann) Clay and Jeremy (Carrie) Clay, all of Sheridan. She is also survived by sisters: Beth (Scott) Bellinger of Melbourne, Fla., Patricia (Frank) Lusk of Greenville, Ala., and Kay (Jimmy) Taylor of Warren. She is survived by one brother, Gene (Carrie) Hollingsworth of White Hall. Left to cherish the memory of their deeply loved Nana are six grandchildren: Wyatt, Caleb, Annslee Rose, Nathan, Jack, and Carson Clay, all of Sheridan. Services will be held at Sheridan Church of Christ, 901 N. Main Street on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and a memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Moseley Cemetery in Bradley County at 4 p.m. The family would like to extend their thanks to the caregivers who provided love, care, and companionship to Glen throughout her illness.
