Emma DeMaris Laster Epperson, excellent conversationalist, loved mother and grandmother and a great source of wisdom for her family, passed in her sleep on February 24, 2016 She was the daughter of Vera Derrick Laster and Thomas Laster. Wife to Thomas Frank Epperson and Howard Epperson. Part of her childhood was spent in Green River, Wyoming where her father was a coal miner and Vancouver, Washington where her father worked in the shipyards. She graduated from Bauxite High School in 1956 and proudly continued wearing her gold Senior Bauxite Miner ring throughout her life. As an excellent cook for her family, she will leave behind many recipes. Her country meal, lasagna, beef stew and Thanksgiving dressing have brought much pleasure to her family members. She worked at various insurance agencies during her career and as a pharmacy tech for Harvest Foods during retirement. Surviving are her sons, Steven Epperson and his wife, Ruth Ellen Epperson of Bryant and Jason Epperson of Mabelvale and four grandchildren, Meaghan Epperson, Lucas Epperson, Skylar Epperson and Allison Epperson. She is preceded in death by her son, Vincent Epperson. The memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home on Highway 5 in Alexander on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. The visitation will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. An online guestbook is available at www.griffinleggettforesthills.com.
