James Russell Hill Sr.

James Russell Hill Sr., age 82, of Lake Village passed away Friday, February 26, at Chicot Memorial Medical Center of Lake Village, Ark. He was born July 20, 1933 in Drew County, Ark. He is the son of the late Marion Hill and late Daisy Chambers Carpenter. He has been a Collision Technician since 1956, and opened Hill Body Shop in 1990. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Hill was a member of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, and US Navy Korean War Veteran. Proceeded in death by his wife, Elvie Bernice Strickland Hill, son, Christopher Shane Hill, brother, Preston Hill, and sister, Maxine Langford. He is survived by three sons, James Russell Hill Jr. and wife, Mary, of Lake Village, Barry Hill and wife, Melinda, of Jonesboro, and Shannon Hill and wife, Andrea, of Lake Village; one brother, William George Carpenter of Lake Village, two sisters, Margret Graham of Ridgecrest, Calif., Susie Brooks of Trona, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 29 at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral Services for Mr. Hill are 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Trafalgar Cemetery in Snyder, Ark. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Ark. In lieu of flowers family request donation be made to your charity of choice in Mr. James Russell Hill Sr. Memory.
