Obong Godwin Okon Ufia Akpan Ekanem, 60, of Little Rock, Ark., was born November 24, 1955, to the late Elder, Obong (Dr) Ufia Akpan Ekanem in the county of Nigeria, in the city of Uyo, State, Akwa Ibom, in the village of Effiat Offot in Four Towns, departed this life December 10, 2015. He is preceded in death by his father, and his son Kingsley Godwin Okon Ekanem II. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Akon Ufia Akpan Ekanem, his wife Debbie L. Ekanem and three sons Prince Ekanem Godwin Ekanem, Supreme Ibanga Godwin Ekanem, and Nijestic Robinson Ekanem and one daughter, Uduakobong Ekanem, one daughter-in-law, DonErica Ekanem. He also had two grandchildren, Mya L. Ekanem and Javarre Ekanem. Obong Godwin Okon Ufia Akpan Ekanem was the first born son of 24 children, 13 sisters and 11 brothers which remains. He received his under graduate degree from Philander Smith College and his Master degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. At the time of his demise he was working on his Doctoral in international business, at Walden University. Obong Godwin Okon Ufia Akpan Ekanem was a dedicated member of the Arkansas Association of Nigerian where he served as President for six years. He was a strong family man and a trustworthy friend who truly be missed. Family hour will be January 8, 2016, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. The African Wake keeping which is the celebration of Obong Godwin Okon Ufia Akpan Ekanem life will begin at 8pm at the Arkansas Association of Nigerian Heritage House at 9802 Geyer Springs Rd. Little Rock, Arkansas. Celebration of his life will be Saturday, January 9, 2016, 11 a.m., at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 1109 S. State Street, Little Rock, Ark.
