Kenneth William Rust

Kenneth William Rust, 94, of Springdale passed away June 29, 2016. He was born April 3, 1922 in Lismore, Minnesota to the late William Dewey Rust and Irene Knips Rust. He served his country in the US Army in the European Theatre during World War II, served his community as member and president of the Adrian, Minnesota school board, was a Past Commander of the Lismore, Minnesota American Legion and was a lifelong Presbyterian who served as an Elder in his church. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals, bowling, golfing and playing pool. Prior to his retirement from farming and moving to Northwest Arkansas in 1980, he was named Minnesota State Farmer of the year. For more than 73 years, he was the loving husband of Marilyn Rust, who survives. Other survivors include his three sons, Steve Rust (Suzanne) of Farmington, Randy Rust (Barbara) of Berryville, Alan Rust of Minnesota and Doug Rust (Tina) of Rogers; a daughter, Christine Morrison (Randy) of Fayetteville; two sisters, Evelyn Hovland and Lois Nienkerk of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and dear friends. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon, Saturday, July 2 in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Graveside funeral service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
