Gay Frick Nogar

Gay Frick Nogar, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2016 at the age of 75. She was born on April 25, 1941 to Carl T. and Olga Loraine (Gay) Frick in Little Rock, Ark. Gay attended the University of Arkansas in Little Rock for two years and then transferred to Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where she met Ed Nogar, her future husband. He was learning to fly jet fighters nearby at Perrin Air Force Base. They married six months later on Aug. 4, 1962 in Little Rock. Gay taught Sunday School for over 20 years and became the Superintendent of Sunday School, and finally an Elder in the Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas. One of her many passions in life was riding and caring for her horses over many years. She also had a deep love for the arts in general and enjoyed painting, drawing, and all sorts of crafting. She loved to travel, and enjoyed taking many trips, including lots of cruises with family and friends. For many years the family owned a ski boat and enjoyed frolicking with friends on many of the local lakes, including some beautiful lakes in Arkansas. Gay is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ed Nogar of McKinney, Texas; son, Ed Nogar III of Plano, Texas; daughter, Laurie Hardin and husband, Randy of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Preston Nogar of Plano, Texas and Brandon Edwards of Frisco, Texas; sister, Marty Frick of Boulder, Colo.; and numerous other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, TX 75013.
