Hazel Virginia Harwell Brian

Hazel Virginia Harwell Brian, 89, of Louann, Ark., passed away on July 8, 2016 at her home. She was born Sept. 23, 1926 in Louann, Ark. to Hilliard G. and Lena O'dell Harwell. She was an employee of the Ouachita County Circuit Clerk's Office. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard G. and Lena O'dell Harwell; her husband, Rev. Waldemar Douglas Brian; a son, Mitchell Brian; her brothers, Earl Harwell and wife, Nell, Kit Scott Harwell and wife, Shirley and Raymond Harwell; and her sisters, Louis Alice Horan and husband, Bill and Leila Mae Tutt and husband, John. Mrs. Brian is survived by her daughters, Catherine Brian Spann and husband, Carroll of Little Rock and Lynn Brian Harbour of Louann; a son, Michael Douglas Brian of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Geneva Harwell and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kenneth Treadaway officiating. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons.
