Vera Louise Taylor

Vera Louise Taylor, 87 of Springdale died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home. She was born Aug. 7, 1928 in Van Buren, Ark., the daughter of Leslie Raymond Landers and Dorothy LuAllen Landers. She was a member of Church of God Sabbath Day in Springdale. She was an excellent cook who harvested blueberries, strawberries and grapes. She worked in the O.B. ward at an Oklahoma hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Earl Taylor in 1996, sister and three brothers. Survivors include her children, Sandra Petersen of Springdale, Marsha Ivey of Salt lake City, Utah, Johnny E. Taylor II of Springdale, Mark A Taylor of Houston, Texas, Sherry L. Parsons of Springdale; an adopted granddaughter who she raised, Samantha Knight of Johnson; four sisters, Neoma Scales of Moore, Okla., Opal Reno of Patrick, Ark., Wanda Fitts of Lampe, Mo., Mary Williams of Springdale; four brothers, Bill Landers of Springdale, Jerry Landers of Springdale, Don Landers of Springdale, Carroll Landers of Goshen, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday July 11, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Minister Wayne Turnbull officiating.
