Gordon Earl Rice, 75, of Crossett, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Rice was a native and life long resident of Crossett. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation Paper Mill for 43 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Crossett Masonic Lodge #576. He was a member of the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church and was known as the Cloverdale Greeter. He loved to hunt, was President of the Cloverdale Hunting Club and he loved to spend time at the deer camp. He loved his God, his family and his friends. He is preceded in death by a son, Joey Michael Rice in 2003; his parents, Winfred and Mildred Johnson Rice; two brothers, Wilford & Jessie Rice; his father-in-law, Eddie Bolin and two very good friends, Jeff Woods and Dale Bolin. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Bolin Rice; two sons, Ricky Rice and wife, Sherri, and Tod Rice and wife, Cindy, all of Crossett; a daughter, Holly Rice Carter and husband, Scott, of Cabot; a daughter-in-law, Sherie Rice; a brother, Delton Rice; a sister, Lois Watt and his mother-in-law, Ruth Bolin all of Crossett; 8 grandchildren, Cortney Rice, Hunter Rice, Gage Rice, Allie Carter, Ethan Carter, Michael Knight, Jesse Knight and Danna Rice; four great-grandchildren, Kaden McCloy, Hudson McCloy, Lillie Moore and Kason Knight and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church with Bro. Ricky Tyler and Bro. Justin Uselton officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroad Cemetery with Bro. Ben Leonard officiating. Burial will be with Masonic Honors. Memorials may be made to the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church, 132 Ashley Road 15, Crossett, Ark. 71635. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
