Una Dell Edwards

Una Dell Edwards, 85, of Newark, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Wood-Lawn Heights Nursing Home. She was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas on December 20, 1930 to Samuel Jackson and Eva Lea (Prater) Jackson. Una was a secretary at an insurance office and a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville. Survivors include her husband, Jefferson Gary Edwards of the home; four daughters, Patricia Ann James and husband, Leonard, of Batesville; Amanda Joyce Chason and husband, Steve, of Augusta, Arkansas, Andrea Gail Edwards of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Amanda Gaye Edwards of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Gary Wallace, Brian Edwards, Olivia Perry, and Matthew Perry; and one great-grandchild, Alley Edwards. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Jane Boyd and husband, Kenneth, of Cabot, Arkansas, and Janet Williams and husband, Jim, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Sammy Jackson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Stacy Reed and Bro. Eddie Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Active pallbearers will be Bill Gatlin, Jay Shell, Norm O'Brien, Jim McVay, Jim Kilgore, Jim Sproles, Stan Haigwood, and Dennis Haigwood. Honorary pallbearers are Malcomb Haigwood, Gene Meisner, Greg Stewart, Stan Appleton, Billy Cox, Gordon Miller, and all of the men at John 3:16. Visitation will be from 5 t0 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
