Waldo Flynn, 94, of Charleston, Ark., passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was married to Veda Beason Flynn for 57 years before she passed away September 13, 2003. Waldo was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and honoree. Serving in the 143rd Infantry, 36th Division, Company C, he was in the second wave of Normandy Beach. For this action, he was honored with a bronze star. When he returned from the war, he operated a beef cattle ranch in Charleston. Graveside service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15th, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, Where Waldo will be buried beside his wife. Funeral arrangements and services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Waldo was the father of Mike Flynn and wife Debbie, Denny Flynn and wife Lynn, Lana Flynn Clark and husband Tom, and Janis Flynn Ureckis and husband Dave. He was the grandfather of Cody Flynn, Rebel Flynn Wilson, Keith Flynn, Ari-Anna Flynn, Ben Clark, Jordan Ureckis Hunter, and Kendal Ureckis. He also had six great-grandchildren. Family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
