Martha Jo McGinnis, 85, of Springdale, went home to her precious Lord on March 3, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born November 18, 1930 in Rogers, Arkansas to Hugh and Izora Davis. Martha Jo Davis was a graduate of Rogers High School in 1948. She married Bill McGinnis on August 4, 1950. They moved to California for 12 years but then returned to Springdale where they owned and operated the Springdale Sports Shop for many years. Martha Jo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who, in her earlier years, mentored younger women and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church (now Cross Church) in Springdale. Her love for Jesus was truly evident in everything she did, from cooking and entertaining to being the faithful prayer warrior who never stopping praying fervently for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles and James "Shorty" Davis, and three sisters, Bessie Pate, Velma Ash, and Betty Felts. Martha Jo was survived five days by her devoted husband, Bill. She is survived by her sister, Leota (Clint) Beard, of Rogers, son, David and his wife, Marietta, of Springdale, daughter, Mindi Popalisky and her husband, Bob, of Fayetteville. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Jason Popalisky, Teer Popalisky, Will McGinnis, and great-granddaughter, Olivia, as well as a host of loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Cross Church Chapel in Springdale, followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
