Betty Gibbs Heidelberger, 79, of Lexa died suddenly Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was born February 9, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late (W.P.) William Parker and Florence Moore Gibbs. She was a member of Jacksonville United Methodist Church where she assisted her late husband, Henry Heidelberger Sr., in teaching Sunday School for 25 years. She loved God; her church; her family and was an established poet. Betty is survived by her children; Henry Herman Heidelberger, Jr. and wife, Yyuvone, William Ernest Heidelberger and wife, Susan, Roxie Ann Wilson and husband Danny, Anna Ruth Noack and husband Mike and Florence Hope Kingsley and husband Michael; sister-in-law, Martha Heidelberger; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many friends. Mrs. Heidelberger was always eager to help the less fortunate around her, greatly loved animals and being out in nature and was a published poet. She has served as a past President of the Arkansas State Poets Society and current President of the Delta Poets Branch of the Poets Roundtable of Arkansas and active with the River Market Poets of Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Heidelberger's name may be made to the Anthology Memorial Fund; Poets Roundtable of Arkansas, Stuck Fund or United Methodist Youth at Jacksonville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday, March 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N. JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Ark. 72076. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Jacksonville United Methodist Church. Interment will be 4 p.m. Monday at Central Cemetery in Lexa. Pallbearers are Kyle Sealy, Curtis Heidelberger, J.O. (John Ouston) Noack, Michael Coats, David Glaze, and Carl Rice. Honorary pallbearers are The Lunch Bunch, Harding Stedler, Bill Grisham and Tom Cross.
