Almeda Jones

Almeda Jones, 88, of Springdale passed from this life on May 17, 2016. She was born December 28, 1927 in Moffett, Oklahoma the daughter of Walter and Leona M. Foster Reavis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 10 siblings, her husband, Thomas Henry Jones and son, Tommy Glen Jones. Almeda enjoyed doing for others. If she thought you were in need, then rest assured you would have a pot of soup or a pie coming your way. She retired from First State Bank in Springdale after many years of service at the commercial window, but didn't stop her regular lunch dates with her "lady friends" from the bank. Her family would like to say a very special thank you to all of her many friends and neighbors who checked on her and assisted her in so many ways over the past few years. She was so thankful for everyone and all they did for her. While Almeda spent the last year and a half living with her daughter and son-in-law in Sapulpa, she made it clear that when it was her time to leave this earth she wanted to be back home, in Springdale, and her request was granted. In her last days she was given great care by the wonderful people at Circle of Life Hospice. Survivors include her son, Dann Jones and wife, Ruth of Owasso, Okla.; daughter, Susan White and husband, Larry of Sapulpa, Okla. and daughter-in-law, Gail Jones of Springdale; six grandchildren, Michael Jones and wife, Lynn, Kyle Ludwig and wife, Whitney, Brooke Jones and husband, Billy, Kevin White and wife, Staci, Tami Reavis and husband, Dennis and Jared White and wife, Jana; 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home on Sunday, May 22, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 22, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Fayetteville under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Roland Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma at a later time. Memorials may be made to Animal League of Washington County. Condolences may be made online at www.nelsonberna.com.
