Randall "Randy" Keith Cross

Brother Randall "Randy" Keith Cross went home to his heavenly Father on May 23, 2016, surrounded by the joyous love of his wife and children. He was born March 26, 1952 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Pat and Chloe Cross. He attended Southside High School and received his Bachelor of Arts from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Randy obtained his Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Kansas. Ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1974, Brother Randy was called to the ministry as a young child. He delivered his first sermon during a revival at the age of 18. His gift as a teacher of the Word and loving, upbeat attitude grew throughout his ministry. He was a man filled with the Spirit of Christ, and shared this love and wisdom with hundreds. Randy began his ministry while in high school as a youth minister in Gentry, Arkansas. His last ministry before medical retirement was for 18 years at North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas. For the past twelve years, he was interim pastor at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. During his marriage with Lynn Siler, they cared for 13 foster children, providing love and direction the children had never known in their previous homes. Brother Randy had unwavering love of the Lord, spread the gospel of Jesus, and was witty, sharp and spirited even in his last days. Randy is survived by his wife Carol; mother, Pat; daughters and spouse, Hannah/Jason Osborne, Cheryl/Lance Ware, and Ruth Cross; sons Samuel/Rebecca Cross, and Robert Edmonson; 11 grandchildren; sister, Patricia McCorkle/Charles McCorkle; and multiple brothers and sisters in Christ. He is preceded in death by his father Chloe. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the church.
