Oscar Burnard DeMaine Jr., 60, known to friends and family as "Burney" passed away after a long nine year battle with cancer surrounded by his "cancer posse", May 23, 2016. He was born March 24, 1956 to Oscar and Dolores Michael DeMaine of Pine Bluff. Preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Lynne, Burney is survived by his parents; sister, Denise Clarke (Jim) and brothers, Jeff and Darryl; by the love of his life and wife, Sue Edmonson DeMaine; daughters, Mary Catherine DeMaine, Elizabeth Thompson (Jared), and Jennifer Wise (Brad); and granddaughters, Savannah Elizabeth DeMaine-Ward and Evelynne Lee Wise; as well as many adopted daughters who he loved as his own. He was loved by everyone and was a fair, loving father, husband, son, and brother. He was President of Comfort Air Conditioning Company and was a lover of the outdoors. Camping and being at Lake DeGray were favorite activities for him. A Mason and Rotarian, member of First United Methodist Church of Sheridan and Fellowship Bible Church of Little Rock, Burney was a man of great character and a pillar of strength. A celebration of Burney's life is Tuesday, May 31st, 4 p.m., Ralph Robinson & Son Chapel, Pine Bluff. Attendees requested to wear "Something Blue". Memorials requested to American Cancer Society.
