Deryl G. Powers, age 85, of Springdale, Arkansas, died Monday, November 7, 2016, in Springdale. He was born March 19, 1931, in Fayetteville to Elmer H. and Mary Ola Stotts Powers. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and the U of A, Fayetteville with a degree in Business Administration. He spent a 42 year career working in the canned foods industry, retiring from Allen Canning Company, Siloam Springs in 1996. He was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, church treasurer, and a board member of Green Valley Bible Camp. He served the community by volunteering with NWMC Auxiliary for 22 years, The Jones Center for Families and Ozark Military Museum. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Max and Norman Powers. He is survived by his wife, Lula Belle to whom he was married on July 19, 1953, in Fayetteville; one daughter, Myra Kay Pianalto and husband Stephen of Tontitown, Arkansas; two sons, Gary Powers and wife Karen of Vacaville, California, and Scott Powers and wife Donna of Fayetteville; one sister, Clovita Rice and husband Clarence of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Moriah Rose Powers, Tyler Scott Powers, Zachary Stephen Pianalto and wife Lauren, Amber Jean Rothwell and husband Derek, Zane Isaac Pianalto and wife Brittany; six great-grandchildren, Sam Pianalto, Aiden Pianalto, Owen and Jake Rothwell, and Sam and Natalie Albright; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. in the chapel at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
