Helen Bernice Waddle

Helen Bernice Waddle, 88, of Ashdown (formerly of White Hall), passed away Friday, November 11, 2016, at Little River Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown. Mrs. Waddle was born January 19, 1928, in Pine Bluff, to the late Grover Lee and Zula Belle Davis Watkins. She was reared and received her education in Woodson and Tamo, where she attended Linwood Schools. Mrs. Waddle was a candy striper at Davis Hospital. She also worked at Westinghouse in Little Rock for a short time earlier in her life. For the most part, she was a farm wife. She raised her children and worked hard on the farm to provide for her family. She was a member of Hardin Baptist Church. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. She was also a registered member of the Cherokee Nation. She is survived by three sons, Jerry Allen Waddle of White Hall, Ronald Avery Waddle of Chattanooga, Tenn. and John Edward Waddle of Cornerstone; her daughter, Sandra Michelle McGee of Texarkana; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Catherine Tuck of Palouse, Wa. and Patsy Aldridge of Wilmot. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel John Waddle, a brother, Leon Watkins, and her sister, Martha Brown. The family will receive friends Monday, November, 14, 2016, 5-7 p.m., at Robinson's. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery with Minister Bertram Cole officiating. Online register: www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
