Roosevelt Fells

Roosevelt Fells of Dumas, Arkansas, departed this life on November 8, 2016 after 87 years of grace from our Heavenly Father. He was born September 17, 1929 to Dinah Griffin and Isaac Fells in Reedville, Arkansas. He served commercial and residential communities as an entrepreneur in building contracting creating an apprenticeship for many students, as a young developer, he served as Lead Planning Commission for City of Dumas. Also served as a former trustee , ordained deacon, superintendent of sunday school and director of Ushers' Ministry of Saint Peter's Rock MBC in Dumas, Ark. Those who preceded him in death: his mother and father, wife Maevelyn Fells, son, Joe W. Fells, granddaughter, Cherise Lewis Robinson; two brothers, Bishop I.W. Holden, J.C. Lewis;two sisters, Ophelia Mitchell and Daisy Fells Watts. Precious memories left to be embraced by two son; Nathaniel Fells (Pankye) Samuel Fells; seven daughters, Ocie Lewis (Isaac), Linda Newburn-Davis (Alex), Deborah Hampton (Willie), Jacqueline Washington (Arnell), Melanie Racy (Kenneth), Aletha Madden (Ronnie), Kimberly Fells; one sister; Essalene Lambert, 34 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and countless nieces, nephews, family and friends. Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Peter's MBC, 100 N. Cherry Street, Dumas, Ark. Services entrusted to Brown's Funeral Home, 510 W. Jones Street, Dumas, Ark. (870-382-4888).
