Martha Speck Treadaway, age 83, of Lexa, Ark., passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 in Kingwood, Texas. Mrs. Treadaway was born June 11, 1933 in Helena, Ark., to the late Cecil and Elois Speck. She was a longtime member of West Helena Baptist Church and she worked as a homemaker, excelling at everything she did: She was a wonderful mother, sewer, accountant and when she had time, craft maker. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Julian Treadaway; two daughters, Gwen Pabst (Richard) of Crosby, Texas and Patti Walls (Gayle) of Cleveland, Mississippi; granddaughter, Melanie Parkinson (Justin) of Crosby; and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Huck Parkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Julian Treadaway, Jr.; brother, Don Speck; and sister, Ruth Speck. A service for Martha Treadaway will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at West Helena Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Central Cemetery in Lexa, Ark. Reverend David Crouch will officiate. Pallbearers will be the men of Watt Moore Sunday School Class at West Helena Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to West Helena Baptist Church or to the American Lung Association. Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
