Clarence Eugene Poole, 93, of Eudora, Ark. passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 in Little Rock, Ark. Gene was born October 10, 1923 in Neshoba County, Mississippi to the late Marion Turner and Rhoda Thomas Poole. He served with the 43rd Infantry Unit in the United States Army during World War II. He received 2 Purple Hearts and a Silverstar Medal. Gene was a lifelong Farmer/Rancher. He loved to hunt and was one of the founders of Harwood Hunting Club. Gene was a former president of Ross Van Ess School Board and a former president of Caney Bayou Drainage District. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers and his two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Mildred Johnson Poole; sons, Tommy (Becky) Poole of Eudora, Ark., Charles "Pete" (Joyce) Poole of Eudora, Ark., and Jerry Poole of Maumelle, Ark.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora, Ark. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jimmy Wallace and Rev.
