Everett Edsel Harber, 88, of Blytheville, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home. Edsel was born in Blytheville to Everett and Leona (Sims) Harber. He was an attorney and celebrated 50 years in the Arkansas Bar Association. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and was an avid Razorback fan. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force before retiring as a Major. Edsel was a member of the American Legion, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Alumni of the U of A. He was a sponsor of the Special Olympics and was a supporter of the Emergency Response Team and the Arkansas State Police Teddy Bear Program. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Thomas Edward Harber; sister, Betty Ann Harber Shanks; brothers-in-law, Clause B. Donaldson, Edgar F. Donaldson, Jr., and George Shanks. Edsel leaves his wife, Helen Donaldson Harber, of the home; daughter, Greta Harber Fisk and her husband Floyd Fisk, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; cousins, Juanita Cook and her husband Archie of West Memphis, Warren G. Harber of Sikeston, Missouri, and Ben Harber of Illinois; brother-in-law, Allen Harvey Donaldson and wife Betty of Tallahassee, Florida; sister-in-law, Byrd Donaldson of Chincoteague, Virginia; grandchildren, Mallorie Harber Fisk and Nathaniel Floyd Fisk and his wife Kaylen, all of Anchorage, Alaska; four nieces; and three nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 21st at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robin Moore officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at First United Methodist Church. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church.
