Loyd Alvan Brewer

Loyd Alvan Brewer, 81, died Tuesday. The son of the late L. Alvan and Mildred Kent Brewer, he was a 1952 graduate of Brinkley High School and later received a Bachelor's Degree from ASU in Jonesboro. Loyd was owner and operator of "Brewer Dirt Works" and vigorously cleared land, laid building foundations and built roads all over the mid-south. A member of the First United Methodist Church, he served as Sunday School teacher, youth leader and on the finance committee. Loyd is survived by his children, L. Alan (Sheryll) Brewer, and Laurie Brewer, sister, Brenda (Bob) Neal all of Brinkley, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
