Mary Ann Shock, 76, of Enola passed away Oct. 26, 2016.She was born Jan. 9, 1940 in Enola, Ark. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Vermon and Lorene Joslin Shock of Enola and her brothers Jimmy Shock (Thelma), Bobby Shock (Jackie) and Sammy Shock. Mary Ann lived most of her life in Enola, where she loved to attend services at Enola Church of Christ. Mary Ann often spoke of how proud she was of her family's rich history of military service. Vermon, her son Drew and her grandson Justin have all served in the U.S. Navy, while her son, Dennis and daughter, Karen both served tours in the U.S. Army. Vermon served in Okinawa during WWII as a Seabee. Drew retired as a Chief Personnel Specialist in 2016, after more than 22 years of honest and faithful service. Justin is currently serving as the Media Division Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Boxer (LHD 4) in San Diego, Calif. In her spare time Mary Ann loved to play Bingo, shop for shoes and spend quality time with her children and grandchildren. Mary Ann learned about the value of hard work from her parents at a very young age. She would help on their farm and work part time in their store, Shock's Grocery. She spent most of her adult life working hard and holding a full-time job while taking care of her children and grandchildren. She worked for a total of 15 years assembling grand pianos for Baldwin Piano in Conway. Mary Ann retired from full-time employment in 1999 as the store manager of Total Petroleum in Conway. Mary Ann is survived by one brother, Ronnie Shock (Barbara) of Greenbrier, and a sister-in-law, Sandra Shock (Sammy) of Bryant. She is survived by five children, Dennis Mitchell (Darlene) of Crossville, Tenn.; Susan Sorrows (Jimmy) of Sherwood; Karen Mitchell of Enola; Connie Smith (Paul) of Damascus; and Drew Breeden (Christina) of Winchester, Calif. She is survived by 13 grandchildren; Justin Webb, Jeremy Webb, Jason Mitchell, Shane Leach, Mitchell Leach, Brandy Arnold, Hope Arnold, Courtney Covey, Dennis Mitchell II, Jacob Breeden, Ian Breeden, Austin Breeden, and Sarah Breeden who loved their grandmother dearly. Mary Ann is survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Justin Webb, Jason Mitchell, Shane Leach, Mitchell Leach, Justin Geisler and Logan Leach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Webb, Dennis Mitchell II, Jacob Breeden, Ian Breeden, Austin Breeden, Kayson Leach, Hunter Webb and Fisher Webb. Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 30 from 4-6 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31 at Enola Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Marcus Hill Cemetery in Enola. Online Guestbook available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/conway.
