Sharlene Smith, 73 of Springdale, Ark., passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Springdale. She was born March 29, 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif. to H.C. Actkinson and Nora Lee (Sebourne) Actkinson. Sharlene was an amazing woman with many talents, including songwriting, teaching, cooking and being a fabulous hostess to many family and friends. She was also a small business owner in Northern California, where she raised her family. She then owned small businesses in Houston, Texas, and Nashville, Tenn. She was also a home builder, realtor, and Interior decorator in NWA for many years before relocating to Oklahoma. However, her most important "job" and greatest joy was being a devoted wife, adoring mother, and precious mema. She recently returned to Springdale to be near her family. She was also active in her local church and community, particularly women's and children ministry. She was a member of Christian LifeCathedral in Fayetteville and former member of the First Baptist Church in Hugo, Okla. She is survived by her husband Larry Smith, two children, Dawnetta Owen of Springdale, Ark., Tim Moore and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville, Ark., step-daughter Kari Freeman and husband Dennis, ten grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Nathan and wife Christy Owen, Natisha Bedford and husband Jason, Jordan Moore, Heather Moore, Ashlynn Moore, Justin Freeman, Josh Freeman, Jessica Bentley, Derrick Smith, Tori Smith, and six great grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Abigael Bedford, Mackenzie Bedford, Benton Moore, Adlie Bentley, Adyson Bentlely, and Elia Freeman. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A Celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 13 at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville with Pastor Steve Dixon and Pastor C.L. "Red" Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to A Level Up Ministry P.O.
