Steven Ray Crumpler of Garfield passed away on September 4, 2016. He was born on September 30, 1958 in Mobile, Ala. to the late Billy Ray and Barbara Jean Crumpler. Steve graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Information Systems and played on the Razorback Football team. He was a passionate Razorback fan his entire life. Soon after graduating, Steve began working at Walmart and did so for more than 30 years. He truly loved working for Walmart. Steve was also passionate about building his castle in Castle Cove on Beaver Lake for his wife Petra Katharina Crumpler. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild with all his heart. Steve is the love of Petra's life. He always told her in German: Ich liebe Dich immer (I will love you forever). And she will love him forever too. He had the best character and he was the most humble and loving man for Petra and his family. Steve is survived by his wife Petra Katharina Crumpler of Garfield; daughter, Heather Wilkerson and husband Drew (expecting Steve's first grandchild Sept 24th) of San Francisco, Calif. and Heather's mother, Carol Meimerstorf; sons, Colt Crumpler of Texas, Cody Crumpler of Colorado; brothers, Mark Anthony Crumpler and wife Alicia of Mobile, Ala., Michael Ray Crumpler and wife Kathey of Tumbling Shoals, Ark.; and sisters, Virginia Lynn Kelly of Rogers, and Cynthia Dianne Maupin of Heber Springs, Petra's mother, Ingrid Herbertz and her sister Anja Herbertz of Hilden, Germany. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A celebration of Steve's life will take place at 3pm on Friday at NWACC Shewmaker Center.
