Ruby Mae Clogston, 87, of Springdale, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Willard Walker Hospice Home. She was born March 31, 1929 in Tyrone, Mo., to Willie and Vada McKinney Gooch. Ruby was a great quilter, wonderful cook, loved to read, and she loved to garden. Before she retired, she worked a number of jobs; Missouri Bell Telephone Company, as a telephone operator; managed a retirement home with her late husband; and as a part-time bookkeeper for a lumber company in California. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Allen Clogston; one daughter, Carla Gonzales; four brothers, Floyd Gooch, Lloyd Gooch, Clennis Gooch and Patrick Gooch; three sisters, Marie Tucker, Darlene Weaver and Mary Lou Allison. Survivors include one son, Curtis Lee Allen Clogston and wife Shelia of Manteca, Calif.; three daughters, Cathy Marie Geiger of Las Vegas, Nev., Christi Lynn Clogston of Camarillo, Calif., and Carrie Elizabeth Talbot and husband Frederick of Citrus Heights, Calif.; one brother, Robert Gooch of Missouri; one sister, Ruth Provance of Joplin, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
