Odellas Deloris Robinson was born February 15, 1935 in Parkin, Arkansas to the late Joseph and Corrine Robinson. She graduated from Parkin's Central High School in 1951 and continued on to enjoy a career as a nursing assistant at UAMS for 38 years until her retirement in 2004. Upon retirement, she spent time doing what she really enjoyed, traveling. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Until her transition to her heavenly home, she was a member of the Covenant Kingdom Baptist Church andserved as Chairman of the Trustee Board, Secretary of the Church, Mother of the Church and an awesome member of the Sunday School Class. She found joy in serving and loved her church. Members, such as Allison, and Deacon and Sis. Fells, became more than individuals with whom she attended church. They became a part of the family. She was a very proud woman who lived her life for family. She created a strong close knit family bond and instilled in us a sense of family togetherness. She loved us all in her own way. We were never hungry and always had enough to share with others. Her home was filled with singing, playing and lots of laughter. Although she had no children of her own, she mothered many, including her younger siblings after their mother's death. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and continued to be the rock and matriarch for the latter generations of nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her strength, sacrifices, selflessness and generosity. She left this earth on Monday, September 26, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. The family not only finds comfort in the love she had for us, but that she knew she was loved until the very end. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by one sister, Linda Robinson and her best friend Herbert Woods. She leaves to cherish her memories: four brothers, Joseph Robinson Jr., Roosevelt Robinson, Jerry Robinson and Jackie Robinson; four sisters, Olivia Robinson, Dorothy Williams, Lottie Robinson and Joyce Robinson; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Family hour will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at Premier Funeral Home. The celebration of her life will be Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 2015 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Big Mama, you will be missed. You brought so much to our life. Thank you for everything. You were the root of our tree. We love and miss you dearly. San and Marcus.
