Newman "Buddy" Burgess

Newman "Buddy" Burgess, 90, of Cabot, Arkansas, woke up in the arms of the Lord April 3, 2017. He was born March 16, 1927 to Amos and Myrtle Burgess. Buddy served 24 years in the Air Force including WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a world-wide traveler and was always ready to go somewhere. He was preceded in death by his son Norman Schroeder and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, son Kent Schroeder, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
