Vernon Cooper

Vernon D.C. Cooper, Sr., 94, passed away April 6, 2017. He was born November 1,1922 to the late Dave and Mary Cooper. He lived in Arkadelphia most of his life. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as an MP. After his military service, through the years, he was a farm manager and truck driver. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cooper, son, Doyle E. Cooper, brothers, Delbert, Kenneth, and Glen Cooper; and two sisters, Marie Byrd, Velma Cooper. Survivors include children, Vernon D. C. Cooper, Jr. (Carol, deceased), Vernus (Larry) Massey, and Deloris (Ron) Blackburn, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sisters: Lucille Bosley, Patsy Sullivan, and Mildred (Les) Petty, and numerous nieces and nephew. Funeral Services will be 2 P.M. in the Ruggles Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until service time. Burial will follow at following at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers are Wayne Cooper, Darrin Cooper, Quenton Cooper, Larry Massey, and Tommy McMillian.
