Anne R Sortor

Dr. Anne R. Sortor entered into God's eternal paradise on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Dr. Sortor retired from the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Extension Service on September 1, 2016, after eight years of dedicated service. Prior to her employment in Arkansas, Dr. Sortor was employed at Clemson University in South Carolina and at the University of Tennessee for a combined 31 years of service. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University, a Master of Science degree from Clemson University, and a Doctorate from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Sortor was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. A celebration of the life of Dr. Anne R. Sortor will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017, beginning at 2 p.m., at Harrison Grove Baptist Church, 299 Harrison Grove Church Road, Roebuck, S.C. The Reverend Allen Rector will officiate. Dr. Sortor will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service time. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of her aunt, Carrie Ferguson, 311 Bethlehem Church Road, Moore, S.C. 29369. J. W. Woodward Funeral Home, Spartanburg, S.C.
