Alice Kammerzell McAffry, age 94, of Lake Village died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home in Lake Village, Arkansas. Alice was born November 19, 1922 in Hitchcock, Blaine County, Okla. She is the daughter of the late Jacob and the late Effie (Miller) Kammerzell. She was orphaned at age 6 and taken by an aunt Pearl Miller and raised in Denver, Colo. and Los Angeles, Calif. She graduated from high school at the top of her class. She married Frank S. McAffry Jr. who served in the army during the WWII. She was a lover of animals and people, always giving her time and love to those in need. She was truly a selfless person. She worked at the ASCS/FSA as a Program Tech where she met her best friend, Dixie Phillips, until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Lake Village. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank "Toots" McAffry; brother, Ralph J. Kammerzell; and her beloved sister-in-law, Lena McAffry Burton. She is survived by two sons, Patrick McAffry of Lake Village, and Frank Smith (Annie) McAffry III of Lake Village; one daughter, Maryl Alice McAffry of Lake Village; four grandchildren, Ned McAffry, Anita McAffry, Terri (David) Dickson, Kim (Michael) Beard; seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at a later time. Cremation Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
