Effie Venable

EFFIE "BETH" VENABLE, of Sherwood went to be with her heavenly father, April 7, 2017, at the age of 92. Effie was born November 22, 1924 in Humphrey, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles Venable. Effie and Charles loved kids. Although they never had any children they would have been loving parents. She was a Navy wife and liked to talk about her time in Hawaii following the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Effie was a loving daughter and wife. She was a member of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church in Sherwood. She spent her life focused on her relationship with her Heavenly Father and shared God's love with those around her. Her church and her family were her world. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Victoria "Vick" Bayless, her brother Paul Bayless, sister Lonia Gray, nieces Lavina Alexander and Karen Gray, and nephew Greg Bayless. She is survived by a niece Delena Cooper, nephews Rickey and Christopher Bayless, several great nieces and nephews, loving cousin and caregiver, Debra Bradshaw, special neighbors Basil and Connie Sifford and dear friend, Karla Terry. Funeral services will be at 10:30 April 10 at Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church, 9921 Highway 107, Sherwood, Ark., 72120. The church will provide lunch immediately following the service. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., in Lonetree Cemetery, Stuttgart, Arkansas, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
