Jack worked for Rock Island Railroad-Biddle Shops, beginning as an apprentice and working his way to General Car Foreman. He remained with Rock Island Railroad until it closed. He loved working for the railroad, as well as those that he worked with. He later worked as a Service Manager at McFadden-Clement Chevrolet. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed fixing small engines, building lawnmowers and fixing cars from spare parts. He had a passion for antique automobiles and rebuilt a 1954 and 1957 Chevrolet. He also had a love for fishing and eating bream. He could be known for catching, cleaning, and eating them all in the same day. He was proud of his family and loved that his great-grandchildren lovingly referred to him as "Jack." He was a lifelong member of Concord United Methodist Church and was very proud of his Methodist heritage. One of Jack's proud accomplishments was when he became a Master Mason and then later when he received his 50 year pin from Lonoke Lodge #51. The family would like to thank Dr. Baltz and his staff, as well as all of the caregivers at CARTI. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
