Clara Mae McWilliams, 96, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on April 11, 2017. She was born January 19, 1921 in Olvey, Arkansas to Luther Franklin & Alma Elizabeth (Pope) Troutman. Clara Mae married Carl Joseph McWilliams December 19, 1945. Clara Mae was the bookkeeper for the family contracting business while also being the family homemaker raising three boys. She volunteered as a librarian at two local schools - Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School and Catholic High School for Boys. Clara Mae was one of the original members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She lived in Little Rock until she moved to Benton in 2014. Clara Mae was preceded in death by Luther and Alma Troutman, her parents; Carl McWilliams, her husband of 64 years; John F. Troutman, her brother; and Elizabeth Ann McWilliams, her granddaughter. Her memory will be cherished by her sons and families: Gary and wife Ann of Houston, Texas; Roger and wife Carol of Byram, Mississippi; Clark and wife Carrie of Benton, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Paul, Karen, Ross, and Jack McWilliams as well as extended family and friends. All will miss her dearly. Graveside services will be on April 15 at 2:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Rev. Paul Worm will be presiding.
