Joe W. Baker

TSgt. Joe W. Baker , U.S.A.F. (Ret.), 86, of Jacksonville, passed away on April 12, 2017. He was born on January 12, 1931 in Memphis, Tenn. to the late George W. and Mineola (Holder) Baker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelba Baker, son; James W. Baker, and brother; Gene P. Baker. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Gideon's International, and a Mason. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Then worked nineteen years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. Survivors include his wife; Marian Baker, two daughters; Carol J. Smith (Darryl), Shelia A. Griesheimer, one son; David A. Baker, sister; Carolyn, grandchildren; Jeannie, Kathy, Amy, Jayson, Jimmy Lee, Casie, Bridgett, Kimberly, Christina, Jessica, Nichole, McKenzie, Joseph, Wesley, Melanie, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cliff Hutchins officiating. Interment will be at 12 noon, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
