C. MORRIS "MICK" TERRY, 81, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away on April 12, 2017. He was born on July 13, 1935 in Como, Miss., to Coleman and Sue Morris Terry. Mick was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Hildegarde Reimer Terry, who died in Sept. 2016. Mick graduated from Memphis State University (now called University of Memphis) with a B.S. in Engineering and from The Indiana University Maurer School of Law. During his career with the Air Force, Mick enjoyed traveling to many different countries. After his Air Force career, Mick worked in Indianapolis for an oil company. It was there that he met Hildie, a nurse. They were married in 1979 at the Fredonia Church near Como, Miss. His work with a major U.S. oil company spanned over thirty years in the Midwest and South Central states. He was an expert in the propagation of plants, especially of persimmon and nut trees. Mick was awarded for his AR Champion Asian Persimmon tree which is an American Persimmon grafted with six Asian varieties. Mick appreciated his many friendships in the AR Native Plant Society and the AR Urban Forestry Council. Mick and Hildie joined St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock 38 years ago and were faithful and beloved members. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Mick and Hildie Terry Memorial Endowment at the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas.
