William Edward Powell Jr.

William Edward Powell Jr., 83, of Conway, Ark., passed away April 11, 2017. Mr. Powell was born Sept. 10, 1933 in Kirksville, Mo., to William Edward and Leantha Powell Sr. Mr. Powell was a Navy Korean War Veteran, radio talk show personality for KBIS1010 talk radio, he was the voice of the UALR Trojan Basketball Team, worked for accounts payable for the State of Arkansas, and Sportscaster for Channel 11 News. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, William Edward Powell III; one brother, Alan Powell; and one sister, Sandra McMahon. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Powell of Conway, Ark.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Kathy Powell of Texas, Matthew and Stacy Powell of Orlando, Fla., Chuck and Melanie Sandquist of Tuscan, Ariz.; three daughters and son-in-law, Sandy Griffith of Little Rock, Ark., Sue and Ronnie Fisher of North Little Rock, Ark., Lisa Powell ( James Dedmon) of Conway, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Charlotte Powell of Colorado; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
