Norma Jene McBride Rodgers

Norma Jene McBride Rodgers of Rogers died on April 13, 2017. She was born on June 9, 1931, in Garfield to the late Ella and James Edward McBride. Norma attended Garfield High School, where she played on the girls' basketball team. She spent most of her working years at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Rogers. Although she enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos, she never wanted to live anywhere but Rogers. Norma is survived by her daughters, Lynn Rodgers of Little Rock and Tammy Rodgers of Greer, S.C.; son-in-law, Al Swanson; grandchildren, Cara and Taylor Swanson; sister, Edna Roller; aunt, Ellen Hughes; many nieces and nephews; her "third daughter" and closest friend, Jerri Cooper; and her dog, Mitzi. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Otha Rodgers; and her second husband, Edward Holler. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, at First Christian Church, 905 S. 13th St., Rogers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Christian Church Food Pantry, the Humane Society, or Habitat for Humanity.
