Dale VonTungeln, 65, of Grapevine, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Born William Dale VonTungeln, Jr. May 2, 1951 in Pine Bluff, he was the son of William Dale VonTungeln, Sr. and Dora Ellen Fowler VonTungeln. Dale was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1969. He attended Arkansas State University. He began working for International Paper in 1988 and retired from Evergreen Packaging in 2011. After retirement, Dale owned and operated Seven Co. Amusement. Dale enjoyed bowling, volunteering in Little League baseball and softball throughout the Pine Bluff area and in several regional and state tournaments. He was a member of the Quapaw Masonic Lodge. Dale was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback fan. He was preceded in death by the two loves of his life, Lea Ann Hargrove VonTungeln and Marilyn Sue Frisby Ashmore VonTungeln; and his parents. Survivors include two sons, William Dale "Bubba" VonTungeln, III of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Matthew Braden VonTungeln of White Hall; daughter, Ashley Brianne (Justin) Cheek of Pine Bluff; step-daughter, Millie Jo (Robert Keith) McClain of Sheridan; brother, Ralph (Patti) Curtis of Arizona; two sisters, Rebecca (Roy) Elliott of White Hall and Susan VonTungeln of Pine Bluff; grandchild, Ryker Cheek; two step-grandchildren, Magan and Zachary McClain. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Minister Parnell Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Fitzhugh Cemetery.
