Don M. Spivey

Dr. Don M. Spivey, age 78, of St. Petersburg passed away on Friday, April 14 at Largo Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arkadelphia, Ark., on Oct. 2, 1938 to the late William F. Spivey and the late Lala Morrison Spivey. He attended the University of Arkansas where he earned his M.D. He practiced at the St. Petersburg Medical Clinic from 1970 to 2000 where he was a Pulmonary Specialist. Before he served in civilian medicine, he was an Officer in the U.S. Air Force where he treated pilots as a Flight Doctor. Dr. Spivey is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judith Spivey; his children, John Michael Spivey and Kimberly C. Spivey; step-son, J. Andrew Meyer; grandchildren, Alex Meyer and Mikayla Meyer; and brother, David Spivey (Sandy). A Memorial Mass will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, Fla.
