Melbourne Ray Shrum

MELBOURNE RAT SHRUM, 87, of North Little Rock, born Dec. 9, 1929 in Mountain Pine, Ark., to the late Opal and Vernon Shrum. Ray passed peacefully, surrounded by family at his home on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1948 – 1952 and then retired from AP&L after 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Cook Shrum; oldest son, Ray Shrum; and brother, W.C. Shrum. He is survived by daughters, Nedra Shrum of Maumelle, and Lynette Shrum Shelton; sons, Mike (Amy) Shrum of Cabot, Robert Shrum of North Little Rock; and daughter-in-law, Becky Shrum of Sherwood. Ray also leaves behind nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew and many wonderful friends. There will be a private cremation service.
