Larry Mac Redman

Larry Mac Redman, 75, of Searcy, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Searcy. Larry was born on September 28, 1941 in Jacksonville, Arkansas, the second son of Doyle and Lillian Redman of Searcy, both of whom predeceased him. Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie McDonald Redman of Searcy. He is also survived by a daughter, Cristy Sue Rhodes of Great Falls, Montana; a son, Jeffrey Douglas Loper (Debbie) of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Shannon Hall (Quinton) of Cabot, Arkansas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, James and Robert Rhodes of Great Falls, Montana, Justine Taylor of Italy, Holly Loper of Denver, Colorado, Cooper and Lily Champlin of Cabot, Arkansas. In addition, he is survived by three brothers, Walter Darr Redman of Crofton, Maryland, Gary Wayne Redman (Sue) of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and David Lynn Redman (Ona) of Searcy; and a special son-in-law, Chuck Champlin of Cabot. Larry retired in 1994 as Plant Manager of Safeway Soft Drink Manufacturing in Denver, Colorado. Larry spent 27 years with Safeway stores, being assigned positions in Adrian, Minnesota, Riverside, California, Butte, Montana, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and Denver, Colorado. Larry was also a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard for six years and a veteran. He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist church in Searcy. Larry was a fifth generation Arkansan, his predecessors having migrated to Izard County in 1829. Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25. Funeral services will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net
