James Dero Henderson

James Dero Henderson born November 12, 1919, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2017. He was the son of Travis and Cleo Henderson. He joined Army/Air Corp in October 1941, serving in the South Pacific Islands during WWII under Gen. Douglas McArthur. He enjoyed singing and playing the piano at his church and with his brothers and sisters. He was a devout Christian and a devoted husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Martha Laverne Henderson; one brother; and three sisters. Survivors include two daughters and one son, Delores Massengale Venable, Rita D. Embree and Douglas Henderson; two granddaughters and two grandsons, Pam Shuffield (John), Rodney Embree (Kellie), Jerrod Embree and Leah Harris; five great-grandchildren: Ben, Jack and Luke Shuffield, Taylor Embree and Joie Embree; two brothers and three sisters.
